St. Lucie West Centennial High School students from Mrs. Angela Baumgarten and Mr. James Nichols’ Law Academy (Criminal Justice) participated in a live drone demonstration. Members from the St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office Drone team led this demonstration, along with an engaging conversation with students on the use of technology and legalities surrounding the use of unmanned aircraft in law enforcement. Deputies David Leigh (School Resource, Explorers Advisor, Swim instructor, and Drone Pilot) and Trevor Boyce (Drone Pilot and Road Patrol) were the guest speakers and led the presentation.
