Cobra Senior Named Scholar Athlete of the Month

Senior Class President Nicolas Tovar recently added a new title to his list of accolades. Nico was honored as February’s Scholar Athlete of the Month from WPBF Channel 25 News & the Law Firm of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey, & Fronrath. From Embry Riddle Aerospace program to IRSC and FPC, Nico is dedicated to Cobra Nation as the Captain of Band, Cross Country, Track & Field, and the Swim & Dive Team. Cobra Senior Field Day 2023

FPC Puts the Fun into Senior Field Day! Field Days are not just for the end of the year, wind-down in elementary schools. Senior Field Day is a Fort Pierce Central High School Tradition. From outside games of kickball, soccer, flag football, photo ops, side-walk chalking and more, to indoor card games and board games, FPC makes time with friends the memorable senior-year moments that last a lifetime. A good breakfast solidifies not only a start to a good day, but continuing a great senior year! Our future graduates were treated to a special Senior Breakfast at Golden Corral. Cobra Secret Friends at FPC

  Fort Pierce Central has a unique program to offer support to co-workers.  The program is called Cobra Secret Friends. Co-workers are matched by drawing names with the Program Coordinator Sandra Rohn.  The secret is that only the coordinator knows who the secret friends are.  Once matched, group emails are exchanged so they can publicly thank their Secret Friends for little gifts, notes of encouragement, and snacks given once a week or so.  The big Secret Friend reveal will be held at the end of the year. Cobra Raiders Win Top Honors

Fort Pierce Central’s Cobra Battalion Raider team took home first place for both the Mixed Team Obstacle Course and Mixed Team overall during Fort Pierce Westwood’s Raider Competition. “The cadets showed some outstanding teamwork and intestinal fortitude,” said the team’s coach, retired Lieutenant Colonel Matt Saxton. The Cobras fielded two 10-cadet mixed teams (boys and girls) for the Westwood competition. “The mix of boys and girls is really good for everyone,” said Cadet Staff Sergeant Cassady Green. The Fort Pierce Central High School JROTC Cobra Battalion Raiders have once again demonstrated grit, teamwork, and determination on the competition field. Over the past two weekends, our Raider Mixed and Female teams have secured 3rd-place finishes two weeks in a row, proudly representing both FPC and St. Lucie County. The gym at Fort Pierce Central High School was full of energy and excitement this past Friday as students gathered for a Homecoming Pep Rally that was anything but ordinary. During 7th period, the Cobra community came alive in a celebration full of music, movement, and school pride. The first pep rally of the year brings a sense of energy, enthusiasm, and celebration to Cobra Nation! In a way that only Cobras can, students at both lunches showed up and showed off their purple and gold pride. Band, Flag Core, Cheerleaders, SGA, and Dance Team dialed up the spirit for our Cobra Football team. More than ever, school spirit takes on new meaning, new purpose, and new direction for a school with over 3,200 students. On April 17, Fort Pierce Central’s Cobra Pals demonstrated the true meaning of inclusion and kindness by hosting a heartwarming event for senior students in the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program. Since Fort Pierce Central’s inception in 1970, the Cobra has been synonymous with the school. The Cobra, chosen as the mascot by Central’s first class, truly represents Fort Pierce Central’s PRIDE. The Gold and Purple of Cobra Nation turned Pink! On Thursday, Oct. 27th, in recognition of Breast Cancer month, FPC’s Sunshine Committee hosted a PINK OUT.
