Forest Grove Middle School hosted their 8th-Grade Pinning Ceremony, celebrating the upcoming end of their middle school journey and welcoming the bright futures our 8th-graders will experience as high school students. We would also like to give a special thank you to our guest speaker, Westwood Academy’s Assistant Principal Ms. Smith. Ms. Smith shared an inspirational message to our 8th-grade students as they prepare for their transition to becoming high school students. Although we will miss them tremendously, we know that our Forest Grove faculty and staff have prepared them for success! Once a Bulldog always a Bulldog!

The Arts Dept. presented a phenomenal Winter Concert in the Forest Grove Gym. We’re extremely proud of our talented students and dedicated Band, Chorus, and Art teachers. FGMS is proud to highlight the incredible creativity of our students through a recent multimedia art project led by our talented art teacher, Mrs. Grant. In this unique assignment, students used shredded media articles and images to create textured backgrounds that set the stage for vibrant animal portraits. Using oil pastels, they brought their animal faces to life, blending color and expression in ways that truly pop against the layered backdrop. Forest Grove Middle School students drop protected eggs

Students in Colleen Wilson’s sixth grade science class at Forest Grove Middle worked on a class science project, “Can you protect a falling egg?” Students created “protectors” for their eggs out of different materials with the goal of dropping an egg from the second story balcony and ensuring that the egg arrived on the ground unharmed. The FGMS STEM Club recently hosted an exciting Parent Night, where students proudly showcased their innovative projects and hard work. Families had the opportunity to explore student-designed skateboard parks, custom fishing lures, and impressive 3D-printed creations. These hands-on projects reflect the club’s commitment to real-world learning and creativity. Forest Grove Middle School’s instructional staff recently participated in a professional learning session focused on enhancing the quality of classroom instruction. Led by Ms. Barriner and Ms. Nichols, the training highlighted the importance of modeling think‑alouds and using active processing strategies to support students’ cognitive understanding.
