Fort Pierce Pride: Fort Pierce Central High School & Forest Grove Middle School Sidewalk Cleanup

On Monday, November 3, the Fort Pierce Central High School National Honor Society (NHS) joined forces with Forest Grove Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) for a spirited sidewalk cleanup along 25th Street in Fort Pierce. The event showcased not only civic responsibility but also the power of cross-campus collaboration. Fort Pierce Masonic Lodge Recognized PSLHS JROTC’S Top Cadet

This has been a long and busy year for the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion, and for all of this hard work and dedication, our top cadet was formally recognized. On April 28th, 2025, Fort Pierce Masonic Lodge No. 87 recognized cadet Major Eathan Clayton. This demonstrates the positive impact and achievements of our cadets at the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion. Fort Pierce Magnet students perform holiday spectacular

Fort Pierce Magnet School of the Arts’ new VPK students prepare for their first performance as part of the annual Holiday Spectacular.  The students danced the “Penguin Dance” while the junior band played “I’m a Little Penguin”, written by sixth grade student Jessica Lopez.   

Fort Pierce Magnet staff works at fundraiser

 The teachers of Ft. Pierce Magnet School of the Arts took time to work at the McDonalds Restaurant on Delaware Avenue as a fundraiser for the school.  Teachers worked from 4 to 7 PM, with all proceeds going to the school.  Pictured, from left, are third grade teacher Kelly Gersh, and guidance counselor Angela Flynn learning to take customer orders.  A special thanks to the management and staff of this McDonalds for making this an enjoyable and profitable experience for the school.  

Fort Pierce Magnet School students combine science and engineering

Students in Andrea Logue’s fifth grade class at Fort Pierce Magnet School of the Arts combined science and engineering as they learned how and why scientists identify a control. In this STEM lesson they generated hypotheses and tested them by filtering pond water through filters they designed and built in teams. Following three trials with their filter, the students analyzed and compared results with other teams of scientists. Fort Pierce Magnet School students cherish first library cards

Students in Kathleen Saunders’ first grade class at Fort Pierce Magnet School of the Arts recently were able to get their brand new library cards! As part of Literacy Week, elementary students took home forms for parents to fill out and return so that students could receive their very own cards. Heather Ricksecker, instructional coach, headed up the endeavor and was able to secure over 75 St. Lucie County library cards for students! Students were encouraged to visit local libraries often to build fluency and love of reading.

Fort Pierce JROTC helps beautify the community

Over 90 cadets from the Fort Pierce Central High School JROTC cadets recently conducted a beach cleanup day at Pepper Park in Fort Pierce. Their mission was to clean up the environment to help the community. After accomplishing their goal, the cadets enjoyed a picnic to enjoy the rest of the day after a morning of hard work. Fort Pierce Housing Authority Recognized for Donation To Dale Cassens

The Fort Pierce Housing Authority was recognized at the School Board Meeting on February 10, 2015. Andrea Kochanowski, Executive Director for Fort Pierce Housing Authority, presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to Dale Cassens Education Complex to be used to support the Spring Fling, the school store, and future Positive Behavior Intervention support activities. Andrea is a SAC member at Dale Cassens. Her dedication and support of the students is evident through her participation in various events such as Fall Festival, Spring Fling, and Teacher Appreciation Week. Fort Pierce Elks #1520 Support Students

The generous members of Fort Pierce Elks #1520 have done it again! Through their focused efforts on supporting students in need, they have donated 150 crock pots which can be used to prepare hot and nourishing meals regardless of the location or mobility status of students and their families.   The Elks #1520 also support weekend food backpack programs, school clothing drives, and school supply donations. St. Lucie Public Schools greatly appreciates the outpouring of support from this benevolent organization.  

Fort Pierce Choirs Sing for the Community

Fort Pierce Central Chorus joined the Lincoln Park Academy Chorus on Sunday, February 13th at 3:00 in the afternoon in a collaborative performance at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce. FPC’s vocal music director Mr. Elker Harris (pictured below) joined Mr. George Rahming Jr. of Lincoln Park Academy in a free community concert featuring tremendous vocal talent. This event benefited the community and contributed to a fundraiser for student participation in district and state competitions. The Gallery of Excellence Award is for all yearbooks submitted for Walsworth’s review. If it meets quality standards, the book is entered into the Gallery of Excellence. Fort Pierce Central High School is proud to announce the launch of its brand-new Unified Bowling Team, which made its debut in Orlando on Thursday, September 24, for their very first competitive meet! The Cobra nation courtyard was filled with fun, games, food, and sunshine last Friday with our school’s Spring PBIS Carnival! Our students enthusiastically participated in a wide variety of engaging activities, including karaoke, basketball, the highly popular dunk tank, parabolic billiards, inflatables, temporary tattoos, and disc throw competitions. The PBIS Hot Cocoa, Candy Cane, & Reindeer Games was a resounding success, showcasing the positive impact of our school’s PBIS program.
