FPC Volleyball Team Sets to Score!

  Congratulations to the Fort Pierce Central High School volleyball team on their victory against South Fork 3 sets to 2. After being down 2 sets to 0 midway through the third set, our Cobras mounted their comeback. Their dynamic resiliency resulted in winning the last 3 sets. Our team exhibited FPC pride during their home opener defending Cobra Nation!  

FPC Unites the Community with Blood Drive

  The Fort Pierce Central Medical Academy partnered with OneBlood and held a blood drive on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, in the Fort Pierce Central Auditorium. We collected 115 units of whole blood and performed 19 apheresis procedures for plasma and red blood cell donations. Total donations will equal 400 lives impacted by the FPC Cobra family participation in the blood drive! Thank you to OneBlood and all those who donated, organized, and participated to make this event successful. Cobras are making history and saving lives!

FPC Traditions Make School a Community

Senior & Freshmen Breakfast One honored tradition at Fort Pierce Central is our annual senior & freshmen breakfast. To support the milestone transition of elevating to high school, FPC brings 12th and 9th graders together for a time to connect, plant roots, and form bonds that support new friendships. A campus becomes a community–a home away from home, and a family when traditions bring us together while differences fade away. Common interests paired seniors and freshmen with interesting ice-breaker activities followed by sharing high school experiences. FPC Track Team Victories!

Congratulations to the men’s track team for winning 1st place and the women’s track team for winning 2nd place at the Saint Lucie County Championship. Rolen Gauthier, Richelle Williams, and Nikayia Wilder were trailblazers for their teams, with Nikayia breaking the school record in shot put! Cobra athletes did an amazing job and a big thanks to all Cobra family members for their support! According to junior Joh’Rissa McBurnie- practice makes perfect! Never missing a practice led to her shattering her personal best in the 100-meter hurdles.

FPC Top 10 Breakfast

Beyond Breakfast- A Cobra Send Off Most students, let alone graduating seniors, don’t necessarily prioritize breakfast. This breakfast; however, was not about the food. With their FPC family, this breakfast was held to celebrate and honor the students graduating in the prestigious top 10 spots of the 2023 class. FPC Thespians Take Center Stage in Tampa

The FPC Competitive Theatre students traveled to the Florida State Thespian Festival held in Tampa. They competed against 300+ high schools from around the state, participated in workshops with Broadway and Theatre Professionals, and watched other high school performances in evenings. Of the four pieces performed by Cobra students, two received “Straight Superior” ratings, and the other two “Overall Excellent” ratings. We are so proud of our Thespian Cobras and Ms. Tiffany Gardner!

FPC Teams Make a Splash at Ocean Bowl!

Ft. Pierce Central High School participated in the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) Regional Manatee Bowl Competition on March 27, 2021, coached by Steven Shotola and Retta Rohm. Overall, the two Ft. Pierce Central teams placed 5th and 7th in this year’s Florida Manatee Bowl hosted by Harbor Branch. While this year’s regional competition was virtual due to COVID-19, last year’s competition was hosted by University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science in Febuary 2020 and the students competed head-to-head. FPC Teacher Appreciation Week- a Globe Trotting Trip

From May 5 to May 9, 2025, Fort Pierce Central High School celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week with a vibrant, travel-themed experience titled “A Trip Around the World.” Faculty members embarked on a journey through Mexico, Greece, England, the USA, and Asia, enjoying a week filled with cultural delights, surprises, and heartfelt gratitude. (Seniors Andrea Moreno & Tara Monfort) EXTRACTING STRAWBERRY DNA  Ms. Jackson’s scientists are unraveling the mysteries of DNA with fruit!  For all the emerging scientists, Ms. Jackson shares some background knowledge.  Each individual cell in an organism has a copy of the DNA pattern used to reproduce cells.  Usually, DNA is combined within the cell, so it cannot be seen or observed.  However, when a mixture of dish soap, salt, and strawberry pulp are combined, the strawberry cells are broken down into individual parts.  Then, alcohol is added to the pulp, encouraging the DNA strands to rise to the top … Read More

FPC has one proud band director! Mr. Daniels would like to recognize the seven FPC students selected to perform this past weekend in the 43rd annual Four County Honor Band. This prestigious band handpicks exceptional musicians and band students across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St Lucie County. FPC Students Attend College Fair

Fort Pierce Central High School students enjoyed sampling the possibilities of their academic futures this week at the district’s college fair. Dozens of universities and colleges came out to introduce our students to their academic institutions and their program offerings. Students filled out interest cards, talked about admission expectations, and scholarship opportunities. Cobras left the fair feeling more informed and ready to make plans towards their post-high school success. Thank you to Mrs. Armada, 12th grade Assistant Principal, and Mrs. Herbert, Counseling Director for coordinating our student participation.

FPC Student Receives Scholarship to IRSC

Rebecca Mendez-Solis, a dedicated and hardworking student, was honored with a full scholarship to Indian River State College (IRSC) at the prestigious Take Stock in Children Awards Ceremony on April 29. She was joined in celebration by her mentor and reading teacher, Ms. Collins, who provided invaluable guidance and support throughout her academic journey.
