From May 5 to May 9, 2025, Fort Pierce Central High School celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week with a vibrant, travel-themed experience titled “A Trip Around the World.” Faculty members embarked on a journey through Mexico, Greece, England, the USA, and Asia, enjoying a week filled with cultural delights, surprises, and heartfelt gratitude.
Each day, teachers were transported to a different destination, with themed decorations, cuisine, and activities reflecting the country of the day. Principal Gardner got upgraded to Captain for the duration of the trip, seen here opening the cabin doors and greeting passengers as they boarded their flight.
The week kicked off in Mexico, where educators were greeted with festive music, colorful décor, and a spread of fully-loaded nachos and fruity mocktails in dazzling light-up cups!
Our carry-on luggage met us at the Cobra Cafe, filled with kettle corn, a FPC key chain, and a multi-charging cord adapter set!
The Cobra Culinary Arts Program dazzled teachers with a festive experience down to every last Cinco de Mayo detail!
With Student Government Association members and sponsor Mr. Bradley cheering teachers on at the welcome gate, the next stop was Greece!
Tuesday featured Mediterranean flavors from our awesome culinary partner Think Greek! From Greek godly salads to falafel, gyros, and more, teachers dug into the fresh and vibrant cuisine.
Midweek, teachers found themselves in England, where tea time with British breakfast treats and classic elegance set the scene. Personalized FPC Airline cup cuffs adorned to-go cups for our passengers taking flight!
The journey continued in the USA, celebrating American traditions with smash burger, chicken wings, and fries. This was a comforting hometown tribute to educators’ dedication to shaping this nation’s future.
The grand finale took teachers to Asia, where they experienced a fusion of cultures, from sushi to egg rolls, spring rolls, crab rangoon, cake, and personalized FPC fortune cookies reading “We are ‘FORTUNATE’ to have the BEST Teachers in the World!” The lunch time affair was upgraded to first class amenities with the beloved karaoke tradition where numerous Cobras stole the show–grabbing the mic from DJ Rivera!
Throughout the week, students and staff expressed their appreciation through handwritten notes, small gifts, and heartfelt speeches. The event was a testament to the school’s commitment to recognizing the hard work and passion of its educators. As Teacher Appreciation Week came to a close, Fort Pierce Central’s faculty reflected on the journey, feeling valued and celebrated for their dedication to shaping young minds. The school community came together to ensure that teachers felt the gratitude they so richly deserve.
