PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – On Saturday April 21, test drive a new Buick and help Port St. Lucie High School (PSLHS) located at 1201 SE Jaguar Lane in Port St. Lucie receive up to $10,000. Garber Buick GMC in Ft. SLWK-8 3rd Grade Student-Led Conferences

Students in 3rd grade invited their parents to school for student led conferences. Students discussed what they learned and shared their goals for the year. Parents were able to see work samples and students’ tracking charts.

8th Grade MOA FGMS

8th grade MOA students planted slash pine seedlings for the Moore’s Creek, Wesley Island restoration project. They will continue taking care of them until they are large enough to transplant where they are needed! What a great way to support our local waterways and learn proper growth care of plants! Way to go Bulldogs!!

Grand Champions!! Forest Grove Middle School Chorus earned a Superior Rating for 1st Place Treble Chorus and overall Grand Champion for Vocal Performance at the Music USA Festival in Orlando! Awesome Bulldogs!! ???

Bulldog Band scored a SUPERIOR and placed second at the Music USA Festival!!! We are very proud of this great performance!! ????????? Bulldogs all the way!!

FGMS MOA PREP

Our MOA 6th graders had an awesome day getting their feet wet and searching the skies for birds that frequent our local ecosystem. Their findings help them to better understand our local waterways and how the animals coexist in the habitat. Our future environmentalists are hard at work! Way to go Bulldogs!  

TCHS Coach Kelly Named FABC Coach of the Year

First Grade just wrapped up completing student treasure books. Each student published an individual book full of their first grade writing. These kits will be mailed away today and they will each receive a FREE soft cover published book to keep, read and cherish forever! They have worked so hard! MATHLETES COMPETE IN LOCAL OLYMPICS

Students from 12 high schools in St. Lucie, Martin and Indian River counties flexed their mathematical muscles in the annual Math Olympics hosted by the Indian River State College Mathematics Department. Participants competed both individually and as teams from Fort Pierce Westwood, Indian River Charter, Jensen Beach, John Carroll, Lincoln Park Academy, Martin County, St. Edward’s, St. Lucie West Centennial, Sebastian River, South Fork, Treasure Coast and Vero Beach high schools. Competition was fierce as individual opponents started the day with a 39-question written exam assessing mastery of algebra, geometry and trigonometry. Saturday With Scientists

Students from Weatherbee, St. Lucie Elementary, White City, and Chester A. Moore explore force and motion as well as reflection and refraction at the Saturday With a Scientist program led by Erin Squires and Kyle Cobb. This program takes place at Indian River State College with groups of fifth graders from across all schools and is organized by the Office of Teaching and Learning’s Paul Reif.

Dr. Kevin G. Perry Speaks About Service

Dr. Kevin G. Perry, Assistant to the Superintendent, was the featured speaker for the 8th Annual Alumni Day of Service (ADOS) for Bethune-Cookman University’s Events Luncheon.  He delivered a speech entitled, “A Call To Service,”  in which alumni were reminded of the University’s motto, “Enter to Learn, Depart to Serve,” and why their service is relevant and important. Holocaust Survivors Recount Heroic Stories

Oak Hammock K8 hosted their annual commemorative event (Uncovering Stories: A Jewish Family Album) in which heroic Holocaust survivors shared their emotional and moving stories of survival with students in an effort to recount history for future generations. When survivor Norm Frajman spoke, his message was clear.  “Never forget what evil and hate can do – don’t be a bystander.”

MDA Receives Innovation Grant

Mosaic Digital Academy Principal, Jeanne Ziemba and her staff were presented with a $2500 I.D.E.A. Grant from FLVS (Florida Virtual School) for demonstrating Innovation, Design, Efficiency, and Achievement in a public virtual school program.
