Congratulations to the Lincoln Park Academy Odyssey of the Mind team! On March 9, 2019, LPA competed in the regional tournament at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach. It was the first time in five years a Division 2 team entered the competitions. On December 19th, Coach Wendell Adams was honored for winning his 400th girls basketball game. Coach Adams is in his 20th season, and in February 2018 he became the girls basketball all-time wins leader on the Treasure Coast. The administrative team surprised Coach Nicole Erickson while she was teaching her middle school physical education class.  Dr. Michelle Herrington presented Coach Erickson with a bouquet of flowers along with warm expressions to congratulate her on an amazing accomplishment. LPA Freshman are Committed to Graduate “C2G” Lincoln Park Academy Freshman had their first freshman meeting.  During the meeting, several things were discussed by their class sponsor, Ms. Erickson.  Mr. Sanabria, school principal, spoke to the students and shook the hand of every freshman to ensure their commitment to graduate during 2020.  The freshman received a bracelet as a symbol of their commitment!

Lincoln Park Academy’s Middle School Student Council is grateful to be assisting the effort to eliminate hunger within the community.  With the tremendous outpouring of effort from students and staff, LPA was able to donate    2 1/2 wagons of non-perishable food items to the Mustard Seed Ministry.        

For many Lincoln Park Academy seniors, the first semester can be very stressful with college application deadlines impending. At the most recent Friday Fitness Litness club gathering they focused on their mental health by partaking in stress-relieving activities. They made tea, did yoga, and simply talked as a group to share what had been on their minds. Mental health is just as important as our physical and we make this a priority in FLF!

The Lincoln Park Academy Advanced Middle School and High School Orchestras presented a Fall Spooktacular in the Lincoln Park Academy Performing Arts Auditorium, October 25. The orchestras performed spooky pieces in addition to featuring several soloists. These soloists included Sofia Arias, vocal solo; Giselle Cisneros-Arana (Florida Orchestra Association All State Violin 2021-2022) on violin, Daniel Dawkins on piano, and Janaya Stephens on guitar. Lincoln Park Academy took Shakespeare to a whole other level in presenting Twelfth Night, 80s style. Twelfth Night is a Shakespearean classic that follows Viola on her journey as she disguises herself to fit in a new town. Her twin brother shows up and chaos ensues. Set in 80s New York, the music of this time truly helped moved the story into a new universe. Don’t miss our Spring Musical: The Little Mermaid, March 9-11.

Mr. Mathison’s Cybersecurity classes had a wonderful trip today on our tour of IRSC. The students had fun exploring the robotics lab, and the programming that goes behind the robots. Then we checked out their IT lab and played the “Backdoors & Breaches” card game which simulates scenarios of IT pros vs hackers. Finally, we toured their manufacturing building to see the workshops, nanotech, and business labs. Students enjoyed the hands-on experiences during the field trip, which was paid for with the Cyber/IT Pathways Grant from the Florida Center for Cybersecurity.

Molly Thomas won 2nd place in the 10th grade category for her short story, “Bermuda Love Triangle.” Justin Heath won 3rd place in the 11th grade category for his short story, “Leviathan.” Lindsey Allgire won 2nd place for in the 11th grade category for her untitled story. Students in Ms. Merritt’s Creative Writing Class at Lincoln Park Academy earned several awards in the Indian River State College Annual Creative Writing Contest. Students submitted one original work of writing in the poetry, drama, or short story category. The students’ work was judged by IRSC faculty members, and the awards were received on March 29th at the 2018 Creative Writing Contest Award Ceremony held at IRSC. Congratulations LPA Chorus!  This past Monday, the LPA Choral Department participated in the Florida Vocal Association State Choral Music Performance Assessments which was held at American Heritage School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This was the third and final segment of the Florida Vocal Association’s Music Performance Assessments. Both the Women’s Chorale and Belle Voix received Straight Superior Ratings for their stunning performances. On April 25th, the Lincoln Park Academy Chorus participated in the Florida Vocal Association’s South State Choral Music Performance Assessments in North Palm Beach. In March, the Lincoln Park Academy Choral Department participated in the Worldstrides OnStage Orlando National Choral Festival. Choirs participating in this festival were from Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, and Maryland. Although Lincoln Park was one of the smallest choral programs in attendance, they were very competitive and came away from the festival with an unprecedented nine awards including the coveted “Sweepstakes” award which was awarded to the most outstanding choral program. Lincoln Park Academy Chorus has been chosen to participate in the 2023 Candlelight Processional and Massed Choir Program at the Walt Disney World® Resort!  This is the 17th consecutive year that they have been selected. On September 6, 2025, the Lincoln Park Academy Chorus, Encore, had the distinct honor of performing at the ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for the new TD Bank in Fort Pierce. This community-centered event marked the introduction of a financial institution committed to serving and uplifting our local neighborhoods. The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including the Regional Manager overseeing all TD Bank branches in Southeastern Florida—a proud alumnus of Lincoln Park Academy.
