Northport and FPC Collaborate in the Kitchen!

Northport’s 8th grade culinary students visited the advanced culinary classes at Fort Pierce Central High School. Central’s Chef Jesse Strell, in coordination with Ms. Rachel Savela, brought their students together to mentor and learn together. Northport students learned how to make a roux and many knife skills including the Rondelle cut.

Mariposa Elementary Celebrates Storybook Character Day

Mariposa Elementary celebrated Storybook Character Day. It was a huge success and culminated with a character parade featuring Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grades. Many of our teachers and staff participated as superheroes including our very own Principal R. Craig Logue and Assistant Principal Angela Patton. Pictured Above: R. PSLHS Raider Meet

Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted a Raider competition at Port St. Lucie High School. Volunteer cadets for each company assisted in running the competition’s five events.  The cadets performed tasks such as running scores back to H22 (the JROTC classroom), working the concession stand, and making sure tents posted around the school had water for anyone who needed it. There were 11 schools from  four different counties with over 25 separate teams competing in three separate categories (Male, Female, and Mixed). TCHS Criminal Justice Trained and Ready

Treasure Coast High School Criminal Justice students participated in Florida Public Service Association (FPSA) training on the teacher development day (10-26-18). The students practiced the following techniques: handcuffing, building searches, cover vs. concealment, interpersonal skills, weapon retention, and radio communications. The students performed exceptionally well.  The FPSA state competition takes place in March 2019 in Orlando Florida.  

Ghoulish Celebration

St. Lucie West Centennial Culinary 2 students put up an awesome Halloween buffet. Culinary 2 students in Chef Gedke-Balachak’s classes worked together to whip up this ghoulish celebration! Way to go, Eagles!      

High Tech Design

Port St. Lucie High students explored Florida Polytechnic University’s STEM Integration labs.  Hosted by Dr. Ryan Integlia, John Picchiarini and Chris Medley’s students participated in demonstrations with wearable electronics, Arts and STEM integration, optoelectronics, supervised machine learning, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy just to name some of experiences! The visit is the first step in this year’s collaboration project between Port St. Lucie High Technical Design students and Florida Polytechnic University students. Look for more to come!

Garber Fundraiser: Drive for Education at FPW (11/3)

On Saturday November 3, test drive a new Buick and help Fort Pierce Westwood High School (FPWHS) located at 1801 Panther Lane in Fort Pierce, receive up to $10,000. Garber Buick GMC in Ft. Pierce will have new Buick vehicles at the school for this Test Drive Event from 8:00am-3:00pm. For each two-to-three minute test drive, Buick will donate $10.00.  When the event exceeds 100 test drives, Buick will double the donation to $20.00.  The goal is to reach the maximum donation of $10,000 for the day!   Participants will sign-in at the main entrance of FPWHS’s campus where they will … Read More
