Palm Pointe celebrates volunteers and business partners

Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition recently celebrated with its annual Volunteer Appreciation Event. Volunteers and Business Partners were treated to breakfast and Volunteers of the Year were recognized. Palm Pointe’s Senior Volunteer of the Year is Millie Morales, Adult Volunteer of the Year is Marie Simco, and two honorees were named for the Youth Volunteer of the Year, Kassandra Silva and Daniela Vargas. Palm Pointe celebrates annual holiday event

Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition recently held its annual Breakfast with Santa. Over 500 breakfasts were sold with pancakes, eggs, sausage and coffee or juice. The students had so much fun with the different holiday crafts that were available. There was face painting along with raffles, and, of course, pictures with Santa. Santa made his entrance aboard a fire truck which was so exciting for the kids. Dean Debborah Estrada brought her keyboard player and sang throughout the event. The event was so memorable and everyone had a fantastic time! Pictured is the Casey Family as they all came to the event to enjoy the day together.

Palm Pointe Celebrates September’s SEL Empowerment Day

Palm Pointe Celebrates Literacy Week

To kick off literacy week at Palm Pointe, Mrs. Baise’s kindergarten class and Mrs. Garcia-Herrera’s sixth-grade class paired up to read together! The sixth-graders helped the younger students illustrate the book’s cover and a favorite scene from each story. Palm Pointe celebrates Literacy and Linguini Night

Students and staff recently enjoyed a Literacy and Linguini Night at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition. Several skits were presented for the guests to watch while they enjoyed a free spaghetti dinner. Palm Pointe celebrates Kindness Week

Students and staff at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition participated in a school-wide event during Kindness Week as part of the Martin Luther King, Jr., celebration activities.  Everyone wore stickers to promote kindness and were given red ribbons to pass forward to someone showing an act of kindness.  It was a great week with these acts and the school has pledged to continue this all through the school year.  Great job Rockets! Palm Pointe Celebrates Florida Government Week

To help celebrate Florida City Government Week, Port St. Lucie Councilwoman Shannon Martin came to Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition to talk with students in the seventh grade. Councilwoman Martin talked with students about public policy and how the local government plays an important role in policies and legislation. Students also were able to ask the Councilwoman questions about their project topics for Project Citizen.  Pictured is Councilwoman Shannon Martin as she talks with the seventh grade students.

Palm Pointe Celebrated 100 Days

Kindergarten students in Carmela Gauthier’s class at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition celebrated their 100th day of school.  Students and staff dressed up for the celebration and had many activities throughout the day using 100. This was a fun way to learn, and the students enjoyed the learning experience.

Palm Pointe Brings Home the Hardware

Congratulations to the Palm Pointe Jazz Band. They participated in the Lakeside Jazz Festival in Port Orange Florida. Out of 19 bands they took home trophies for the Best Overall Rhythm Section, Best Overall Trombone Section as well as Overall Best Band at the festival. They also received a superior rating. The students were pleased to see their hard work pay off and are looking forward to more jazz growth!

Palm Pointe Book Explorer’s Club

The Palm Pointe Book Explorers enjoyed a fun read while learning about events from the past. Students in the club are currently reading, The Watson’s Go to Birmingham 1963. They are enjoying the characters and humor in the book, while having great conversations about life back in the 1960’s. Mrs. Fazzalaro, the club sponsor, is amazed at the excitement the students have about the book and the comradery that has developed among members of the club.

Palm Pointe biotech class earns a grant for schoolwide phone application

Palm Pointe teachere  Joanne Hilhorst proudly accepts a $2,000 check representing a grant she earned presented to her by Kathy McKenzie of AT&T and St. Lucie County Education Foundation president Michael Waninger.  The grant was given to Mrs. Hilhorst and her biotechnology classes to create a phone application for the school.  Students are very excited to get started on the project. Pictured, from left, are Michael Waninger, Kathy McKenzie from AT&T and Joanne Hilhorst.

Palm Pointe Band Hosts Master Percussion Teacher

This past week the band at Palm Pointe hosted Mr. Andrew Kruspe, a percussion specialist from Alabama, for a special percussion only clinic. The students were able to gain help in stick technique, counting, and performance fundamentals. Mr. Kruspe passed out materials and instructed the students to help them gain a better understanding of the percussion section as musicians.

Palm Pointe Band Honored at State Convention

Recently at the Florida Music Educators convention in Tampa the Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition Band was given the state enrollment award. This award recognized them for achieving over 43 percent of the 7th and 8th grade students enrolled in a music course. This award will be held for three years. Palm Pointe Band Director Receives Superior Award

Congratulations to Jason Hatfield on receiving the Linda Mann Five Year Superior award from the Florida Bandmasters State Association. This is his second consecutive time receiving the award. His bands have maintained the top rating from the state for 10 straight years. This is an extremely difficult accomplishment. Congratulations to Mr. Hatfield, Principal Kathleen Perez and the Palm Pointe Band Program.

Palm Pointe Attendance Spirit Week

Palm Pointe celebrated attendance with an attendance spirit week! Students dressed like superheroes, wore their best wacky tacky outfits, showed off their school colors, and they got to finish out the week wearing their best outfits for Spring Picture Day! It was a fun week for all! #attendancematters

Palm Pointe Assistant Principal Read-Aloud

Palm Pointe first-graders enjoyed Assistant Principal Mrs. Newsome stopping by for a Read-Aloud with their class! It is always fun to have guest readers partner with our classrooms.  Mrs. Newsome is a welcomed Guest Reader and always brings a spirit of enthusiasm and a love for reading.

Palm Pointe Artists Working Together

Palm Pointe artists studied the sculptural techniques of Chris Mason and learned about proportion and movement to create their uplifting designs. Using only wire and their hands, artists created climbing figures that symbolize working together to reach a goal.
