Palm Pointe wins 2nd Place in State Mock Trial Competition

7th grade Civics students at Palm Pointe won 2nd place in the state in the 3rd annual FLREA mock trial competition. Students were given a case and had to write opening and closing statements, question and cross-examine witnesses, and then videotape their presentation of the case for submission. The students would like to thank Mrs. Oliveira (Centennial H.S. Law Academy) and Judge Narline Smartt (St. Lucie County Court) for their invaluable guidance and assistance.

Palm Pointe winners of MLK Week of Kindness Contest

Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition is so honored to win first place for the Martin Luther King Jr. “Week of Kindness”. The school did several activities during that week. Students in all grade levels K-8 decorated their doors with the Kindness theme. A school wide Diversity of Kindness wall was created by students who submitted kindness drawings and sayings. Teachers were given Kindness Coins to pass out to students and teachers for random acts of kindness throughout the week. Palm Pointe welcomes volunteers and business partners

Karol Carvelli, Volunteer Coordinator for Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition, recently welcomed the volunteers/business partners at an orientation. A fabulous breakfast was provided by PNC and Tropical Smoothie, and was served to approximately 45 volunteers that joined the Palm Pointe team. They signed up for committees and were informed of volunteeer procedures.  These volunteers support the school in numerous ways and have volunteered as many as 50,000 hours in one school year and are very much appreciated at Palm Pointe. 

Palm Pointe Chosen as a PBIS Model School

Assistant Principal, Deborah Iseman accepted the 2012-2013 PBIS Model School Bronze Award at the School Board Meeting on May 27, 2014. A  PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Model School is characterized by their consistent methods of utilizing data to better serve students and staff, utilizing creative and engaging reward systems, teaching PBIS to new students, extending PBIS throughout the campus and partnering with the community and parents, and including PBIS into daily activities across all available teaching opportunities. Palm Pointe Volleyball Team Places Second

Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition’s Volleyball Team “B” recently played in a District tournament, and we are so proud to announce that they took second place. These girls worked very hard to get ready for the tournament under the direction of their coaches, Felicia Smith and Stephanie Remsen. Palm Pointe third graders create bottle biographies

Townes Pagano in Laurie Boyer’s third grade class at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition created an awesome bottle biography of President Grover Cleveland.  Students were asked to create these bottles as part of their President’s Project in honor of President’s Day.

Palm Pointe Third Graders Bring Idioms to Life

Palm Pointe third graders came in representing various idioms! An idiom is a phrase or expression whose meaning is not from the literal form of its words.  Students and staff were buzzing with excitement over the many creative ways they represented their idioms!  This was a part of their intentional review of the Figurative Language Skills they have learned in class.  Everyone had a blast throughout the school day figuring out what each student’s real-life representation meant as an idiom.  Our Rockets are working hard towards showing what they know and how much they have accomplished this school year.

Palm Pointe thanks bus drivers during FCAT week

Palm Pointe Educational Research School at Tradition Dean Christopher Pierre passes out snacks to the bus drivers that service the school during FCAT week.  These drivers do a great job of getting students to school safe and on time everyday and especially during testing.  Thank you to all drivers.

Palm Pointe team wins regional stock market challenge

A team of students from Hillary Cruz’s seventh grade civics class at Palm Pointe Educational Research School in Tradition recently won first place for the regional division of the Florida Stock Market Challenge.  This is a web-based educational tool used by thousands of students around the state each semester to help teach economics, finance, current events, math, social studies and technology. The winners will receive a $100 check for the school, a $50 gift certificate for Papa John’s Pizza, and first place certificates. Palm Pointe team is county middle school volleyball champion

The Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition team recently won the St. Lucie County Middle School volleyball tournament held at Ft. Pierce Central High School. The girls from the “B” division defeated the Southern Oaks Middle School team in the championship Match. The championship match was the best of three, with the Southern Oaks team winning the first game, and Palm Pointe winning the other two matches.  The girls really showed heart, determination and dedication, coming from behind to win the championship. These girls spent many hours practicing before school, getting ready for the tournament — and it really paid off. Pictured, from … Read More

Palm Pointe teachers receive grant for innovative math program

Fifth grade teacher Michelle Powers and fourth grade teacher Jade Joie from Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition were recently awarded a grant to fund a mathematics program. Explore Learning Reflex is an award –winning game-based system that enables students of all abilities to develop instant, effortless recall of math facts in all four operations.  Reflex’s highly adaptive technology provides each student with an optimized path from the initial acquisition of new facts through to full automaticity. Palm Pointe teacher wins prizes from “Little Debbie” contest

The Make a Teacher a Classroom Hero program sponsored by “Little Debbie” was held during the month of August 2012. The area distributor who had the top sales total for the month would choose their favorite K-12 teacher to be a Classroom Hero and award that teacher with a $300.00 Visa gift card to use for their classroom supplies. Palm Pointe Talent Show a HIT!

Palm Pointe students had a talent show last week. We were so impressed with the variety of acts. Students, sang, acted, shared their comedic talents and much more.  Everyone did an amazing job! Our students are stars!

Palm Pointe symphonic band takes memorable field trip

The Palm Pointe symphonic band recently travelled to Atlanta, Georgia, to participate in a private clinic at Georgia State University held by the university’s band director. While they were there they were able to tour the CNN television studios and view a live taping. Some of their other activities included visiting the Coca Cola corporation museum as well as visiting the world’s largest aquarium. Students gained memorable experiences that will last a lifetime. Palm Pointe Summer Reading Carnival

Palm Pointe Educational Research School held a reward Carnival for students who participated in the Summer Reading Program.  In order for students to attend, they had to read a minimum of two chapter books, one of them being a Sunshine State Reader book.  Additionally, students had to create thinking maps that demonstrated they comprehended what they read.  At the carnival, students participated in activities including ski ball, bowling, basketball, dancing, and a variety of other carnival games.  Students also enjoyed snacks and prizes as they participated in the activities.  The carnival was filled with smiles, as students celebrated their reading … Read More

Palm Pointe Summer Reading Carnival

Over 600 Rockets in grades 1-8 took part in a “Reading is Fun!” Carnival on August 31st.  During the carnival students played games, danced, and enjoyed a tasty treat.  Students qualified for the carnival by completing the Summer Reading Challenge.  Many thanks to all of our volunteers, teachers, and staff members for making the event a success.  Fun was had by all!

Palm Pointe students wrap up algebraic functions unit

Eighth grade students from Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition pose for a photo during Kindness Week after placing first and second place in the Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Contest in their division.  Manisha Hussman, left, won first place and Jonathan Auguste won second place.  They wrote their speeches about “Universal Brotherhood” and presented them recently at Ft. Palm Pointe Students Win Cheribundi Art Award

Palm Pointe Artists win the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Art Contest. Congratulations to Elementary School Division First Place Winner: Naima Guerrier – grade 5, and Middle School Division First Place Winner: Miyanna Morgan – grade 8. Students from St. Lucie County and Palm Beach County were asked to complete an artwork using “football and health” as the theme.
