PSLHS Jaggernauts Compete in Robotics Competition

The PSLHS Jaggernauts ranked 48th out of 64 teams at the First Robotics Competition in West Palm Beach, including international teams. The students learned the value in collaboration, and they will keep building from it!  Prior to their arrival, their robot worked at 70% of its attainable project.  Combined with the selfless dedication of other teams, they assisted in getting the robot to 100% of the envisioned robot. Cheers to the future engineers of PSLHS!

PSLHS HOSA Students Have a HEART for Service

Mrs. Cebelak and her HOSA students coordinated a volunteer event with Molly’s House. Molly’s House is a home close to Cleveland Clinic that offers housing to those who have family members in the hospital or are receiving treatments themselves. They have 16 different room sizes, ranging from single beds to family apartment-style spaces. It is very similar to the Ronald McDonald housing, but an independent entity.  

PSLHS Helps Save Lives!

On Wednesday, September 14th, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion executed their first Blood Drive of the year. The Blood Drive ran efficiently, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the community. Thanks to the JROTC Cadets and members of One Blood, we were able to provide enough blood to save over 200+ lives.  

PSLHS Football Honor Guard

On November 1st, 2019, Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion cadets participated in a parking detail honor guard for our last home football game against the Centennial High School Eagles. They directed traffic to the appropriate parking lot, carrying out their task efficiently and effectively in one of our busiest games against our rival school.  The cadets ran this event smoothly and independently without additional administration. PSLHS Culinary Students Compete at SkillsUSA

Three Port St. Lucie High School culinary students participated in the SkillsUSA State Competition. They each prepared, cooked, and presented a three-course meal all in a timed setting while competing against high school students from across Florida in the SkillsUSA States in Jacksonville, FL Chef Roland Foerster, PSLHS Culinary Instructor was beyond proud of the trio who went far above expectations.

PSLHS Change of Command Ceremony

Change of Command Ceremony         On Wednesday, April 21st, the Jaguar Battalion conducted its annual Change of Command Ceremony. It is a ceremony where the Cadet Battalion Commander and the Cadet Command Sergeant Major positions are transferred to the upcoming leadership for the following year. The outgoing Battalion commander, Cadet Lieutenant Lawrence Moleon-Matthews relinquished his position to the incoming battalion commander, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Alexis Wilson. Cadet Command Sergeant Major Mery Fuentes relinquished her position to Cadet Command Sergeant Major Devin Callwood.

PSLHS Certified Nursing Assistants Ready to Provide Care

Port St. Lucie High’s Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA) Students under the Leadership of Registered Nurse Mrs. Jacklyn Cebelak, as they prepare to earn clinical experiences at Emerald Health Care Nursing Facility. The students performed tasks alongside licensed CNA’s to include vitals, tray passing, dressing, feeding & social activities. So proud of their dedication to the Nursing field along with their commitment to providing excellent Health Care.

PSLHS Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month!

Students in Mrs. Brigitte Martin’s Spanish classes celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month this week at Port St. Lucie High School. Students participated in a variety of activities over the past few weeks to grasp a better understanding of Hispanic Heritage and cultures at Port St. Lucie High. 

PSLHS Car Wash

On Saturday, April 17th, cadets participated in a car wash fundraising event at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, who generously allowed the cadets to wash cars on their grounds. The fundraiser was very busy, and we served many customers.  Everything flowed well, as we made a system of getting cars through the washing and drying stations. The cadets were broken down into groups of five, rotating into washing, drying, and sign holding stations. This cadet-led event proved to be a huge success for the program.    

PSLHS Band Rise to the Crown Jewel Challenge!

Another Crown Jewel in the books! What a crazy season it has been thus far. The growth in the PSLHS Band show in one week has been incredible! The PSLHS Jaguar Band received Runner Up in Silver Class, won best General Effect, and tied for best Music Performance. Also, the PSLHS Band General Effect was tied for First place out of ALL the bands in the whole competition, regardless of class. This show is going to be something else…. don’t miss it! PSLHS Attends Florida State Raider Competition

On November 16, 2019 the Port St Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Male and Female Raider teams competed at the state level at Boy Scout Camp Flaming Arrow in Lake Wales, FL. The teams went through physical and mental challenges and overcame a lot of different tasks to get through the competition.  Many of our teams persisted on even when they were past their breaking points. Port St. Lucie High’s first Art Show was put on Tuesday, December 13th by Mr. Graham and his students! The students from Mr. Graham’s 2D, 3D, and Creative Photography courses made it a nice night to show off their talent! We have some amazingly talented artists here at PSLH that we are so proud of! Thank you to Mr. Graham for pulling their creativity out of them!

PSLHS Army JROTC Shines at States

The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalions Male and Female Teams traveled to Brooksville, Florida to compete in the Army JROTC High School State Championships on November 16th. The Raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3.1 mile run, a 1-mile litter carry, tire flip, and a Fitness challenge, as well as constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion competed against the top 40 Army JROTC Program in the state of Florida.  The Male team finished 11th place overall, and Female team placed 10th overall. Congratulations, Males and Females, for such an amazing raider season. 

PSLHS Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion’s Raiders Conquer Jupiter High

On Saturday, October 13, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion’s Raider Team attended the Jupiter High School Raider meet. Our male and female teams competed in each of five different obstacles: Sand Bag Carry, Rope Bridge, Cross Country Rescue, Team Run, and Tire Flip. PSLHS Army JROTC Change of Command Ceremony

On April 26th at 6PM, the Port Saint Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted their annual Change of Command ceremony. Relieving the current Battalion Commander of his duty c/LTC Travis Cetin welcomes c/LTC Veronika Patti to command and led the Battalion on a successful path. Pictured below is Mr. Jerry Earley as the Commander performing the tradition of “Passing of the Colors.”  The Change of Command is a simple, traditional event that is rich with symbolism and heritage.  The distinguished guest for the ceremony was Assistant Chief Richard Del Toro, of the Port St. Lucie Police Department.

PSLHS Army JROTC Attend Competition

On Saturday February 16, 2019, Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s Marksmanship Team attended a competition held at Jupiter High School. The Jaguar Battalion’s “sharpshooters” competed against nine other Army JROTC programs in the area. Cadet Captain Simmons shot an outstanding 207 out of 300 points, scoring the highest out of our nine cadets.  Our Marksmanship Team  includes: Cadet Sergeant First Class Cook, Cadet Captain Simmons, Cadet Corporal Moad, Cadet Corporal Lewiston, Cadet Private Arrabe, Cadet Private O’Hare, Cadet Private Svoboda, and Cadet Private Funez.
