SLPS IT Earns Cybersecurity Service Technician Certificates

SLPS IT employees Antonio Vargas and Nile Gentry have both earned their certificate of completion for their apprenticeship training. The pair earned their Cybersecurity Service Technician certificates while working in one of the largest IT facilities at the St. Lucie Public Schools administration facility. SLPS is Recognized as a Florida Healthy School District

St Lucie Public Schools was presented an award by Eric Stern from Action for Healthy Kids at the school board meeting on October 28th. The District earned a Silver level on the Coordinated School Health Assessment that includes the areas of Health Services, Food Services, Physical Education, Staff Wellness, Mental Health, and Community and Family Involvement. SLPS Hosts HBCU/HSI College Fair

On January 25, 2024, SLPS held its annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) College Fair at the Fenn Center. This fair hosted representatives from the HBCU and HSI colleges who provided program, application, and scholarship information to prospective students which included SLPS current seniors and juniors. Dan McCarty Middle School also participated. This event was a wonderful opportunity for students and SLPS thanks all participating staff and universities for a great and informative event!

SLPS Honored as One of Best Places to Work

With over 5,400 employees, St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) was recognized as one of St. Lucie County’s Best Places to Work. St. Lucie Public Schools 2024 Graduation Guidelines Each graduate will receive tickets for the ceremony from their school and should arrive in one car with their guests. All guests, including children and babies, require a ticket. Any high-risk individuals or those who are susceptible to the heat should consider staying home and watching the live broadcast of the ceremony. SLPS Goes to UNF, UCF, and USF

The Office of Teaching and Learning is devoted to exposing SLPS students to college and university campuses. We took 43 seniors to the University of Central Florida on November 4th, 36 seniors to the University of North Florida on October 29th, and 37 seniors to the University of South Florida on November 12th. The students were able to listen to the Admissions Department from each university and discuss admission steps/requirements as well as unique facts for each institution. St. Lucie Public Schools’ Secondary Programs had the chance to take 46 amazingly wonderful, talented, and respectful juniors to tour and explore Florida International University. These 46 juniors were from all of our 6 comprehensive high schools. It was a beautiful day on a beautiful campus. It was also the first time many of these students had been on a university campus. Visiting a college campus is very important for these juniors as most college applications will open on August 1st. SLPS Goes to FGCU

St. Lucie Public Schools took 34 wonderful seniors across the state to visit Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers. The students had the opportunity to receive a guided bus and walking tour that included their main campus (academic classrooms, academic resources, and administrative offices), residential halls, dining halls, basketball arena, and more. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful campus, and an amazing group of students. Wings Up!

SLPS Goes to FAU

SLPS took 33 of our shining seniors to Florida Atlantic University on Monday, October 16th. The students heard directly from admission representatives, received a comprehensive tour of campus, and ate lunch in the FAU Dining Hall. Go Owls! Our next college trip is October 25th and we are headed to Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers.  

SLPS Found the Right Fit for Students in Project Search

St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) need look no further. SLPS Fifth Graders Showcase Their Science Fair Projects

On Saturday, April 1st, St. Lucie Public Schools celebrated the annual Elementary Science Showcase. Fifth-grade students from Floresta Elementary, Frances K. Sweet, Lakewood Park Elementary, Manatee K-8, Morningside Elementary, and Mosaic Digital Academy had an opportunity to exhibit, talk about, and answer questions about their projects, either individually or as a group. Those in attendance, including teachers, board, and community members, were impressed by our talented fifth graders. SLPS Expands COVID-19 Testing Sites in Partnership with Allied Health

In an effort to provide easy access for employees, students, and their families to COVID-19 tests, St. Lucie Public Schools has partnered with Allied Health to offer both PCR and Rapid tests free of charge.  Currently, there are four locations open Monday through Friday at Manatee Academy, Fort Pierce Central High School, Port St. Lucie High School, and Lincoln Park Academy. In order to return healthy students to school as soon as possible,  asymptomatic students who have been quarantined for exposure at school can return to school on day 5 of their quarantine with a negative PCR or rapid test. … Read More

(Digital Inspiration by YOU) Virtual Conference.  Hundreds of educators attended virtual sessions on Saturday morning to enhance their Ed-Tech skills.
