SLPS Goes to UNF, UCF, and USF

The Office of Teaching and Learning is devoted to exposing SLPS students to college and university campuses. We took 43 seniors to the University of Central Florida on November 4th, 36 seniors to the University of North Florida on October 29th, and 37 seniors to the University of South Florida on November 12th. The students were able to listen to the Admissions Department from each university and discuss admission steps/requirements as well as unique facts for each institution. The students were then led on a comprehensive tour of each universities’ campus. To wrap things up, all students were able to eat lunch on campus to get the true college experience. Field trips to postsecondary institutions can impact enrollment, degree completion, and attitudes and behaviors toward college.

A special thank you to the St. Lucie Education Foundation for providing the students with the opportunity to eat in the dining hall on each university campus.
