On Target for State: Port St. Lucie High School Jaguars Advance to Area 3

On 6 December, the Jaguar Battalion Air Rifle Team participated in the final match, leading us into the Area 3 match on 13 December. This week’s 3-Position Air Rifle (PAR) match, hosted by Jupiter Community High School, was nothing short of intense—and our Jaguar Battalion rose to the challenge with precision and poise! Facing some of the toughest competition in the area, our shooters proved that steady hands and sharp focus pay off.

James White delivered an outstanding performance, earning the Silver medal by securing the #2 overall spot in the Prone position—because when James goes prone, gravity works in his favor! Not to be outdone, Abriana White claimed the Bronze medal with a stellar #3 overall finish in the Kneeling position.

But that’s not all. The Jaguar Battalion also wrapped up its 8-week Virtual 3-PAR competition, where we battled against eight highly competitive teams from across the area. After weeks of dedication and consistency, we proudly finished 3rd overall, maintaining an impressive average score of 906 out of 1200. That’s not just good—that’s “we’re-coming-for-the-top-spot” good!

A huge shout-out to our Top 4 firers who carried the team with skill and determination:

  • Team Captain – James White
  • Abriana White
  • Aliyah Adetunji
  • Kohl Aguilar

Your hard work and focus have guaranteed the Jaguar Battalion a coveted spot in the upcoming Area 3, 3-PAR match, where the stakes are even higher. This next competition will determine who earns the honor of representing Area 3 at the State Championship in January. So, shooters, keep those sights steady and your confidence high—because if there’s one thing we know, it’s that Jaguars don’t just compete… they dominate!
