Oak Hammock 7th Grade Students Investigate Adaptations of Darwin’s Finches

Students in Ms. Seaton’s 7th grade science class spent some time using different tools which simulate the various possible beaks that birds on the Galapagus Islands have. Students made hypotheses then tested the efficiency of each beak, and then went on to do increased competition as resources dwindled. They were able to make the connection between their hands on experience and how adaptations and competition affects survival of the fittest. They truly enjoyed the experience.  Pictured are Paula Arias and Seylor Worrow
