Lakewood Park Elementary Girls on the Run Celebrates Girl Power

This year’s Girls on the Run season at Lakewood Park Elementary was nothing short of inspiring! Our Grades 3–5 team began with the theme “What Makes Me, Me!” and built confidence through lessons like Star Power, Happy Pace, Self-Talk, and Feel Your Feelings. The girls learned to shine together, pause and breathe, and foster true friendship. Mid-season, they completed a practice 5K with incredible energy and support!
We explored how to be includers, mapped our community, and created a heartfelt Community Impact Project—handmade hairpin beads gifted to the Girls on the Run of Floresta Elementary. The season ended with a spectacular 5K finale on November 15, where volunteers and buddy runners came out in full force to cheer on our girls.
We’re proud of every runner and grateful to our coaches and supporters. Recruitment for next year starts early—more girls, more coaches, more impact! Join us in empowering the next generation of strong, confident, and compassionate leaders.
