Holocaust Remembrance Day at Oak Hammock

On Wednesday, February 19, Oak Hammock held its Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day, welcoming 18 Holocaust survivors, community members, School Board members, and district personnel. Visitors toured the school’s permanent exhibits and survivors shared their powerful stories with fifth and sixth-grade students. These moments made a lasting impression on those in attendance. Students also honored the occasion with a special poem recital. This meaningful event provided an opportunity for reflection, remembrance, and learning, ensuring that the lessons of history are never forgotten. Oak Hammock looks forward to hosting this event again in the future to continue honoring the historical significance and lasting impact of the Holocaust.
