Palm Pointe 6th graders participated in an IXL Leaderboard Math contest for about two weeks, measuring the “most correct questions” during that time period. The competition was intense! The top 5 students from each pod had the opportunity to visit the “Palm Pointe Arcade” during elective time. This week, ten students got the opportunity to go play video games in Mr. Apostolico’s computer lab and simultaneously receive a historical, hands-on educational experience in old school gaming. Mr. Stetz single-handedly defeated every 6th grader in 1972 Pong! Special thanks to Mr. Apostolico, Mr. Stetz, Mrs. Garcia-Herrera, and our team of elective teachers for making a plan to incentivize learning and reward students for their academic success.
