Forest Grove MOA Students Explore the Smithsonian Museum

FGMS MOA
Great things are happening at Forest Grove Middle School! Our 6th grade Marine Oceanographic Academy students identified different habitats such as the habitats in the Indian River Lagoon, the near-shore waters, and the Oculina reef. Students also participated in a scavenger hunt, examining the 6 different tanks modeling the different habitats searching for the marine organisms that occupy each. In addition, the students had an inside tour of how the aquarium cares for their organisms. Finally, students observed and identified plankton from a sample of water from the dock along the Fort Pierce Inlet. At FGMS our students are exposed to a variety of educational experiences that enhance their knowledge and desire to learn!
