St. Lucie County won the Florida Academic Challenge! This is the first time since 2004 that team St. Lucie has won!
Team St. Lucie was led by Coach Stephen Maxwell (Treasure Coast High School) and Assistant Coach Peter Miserocchi (Fort Pierce Central High School). Team St. Lucie consisted of four members from Treasure Coast High School (Corey Pope, Aidan Ortado, Gabriel Gobi, and Sebastian Rebelo) and Fort Pierce Central student (Jayden McGregor) to make the winning team.
Corey Pope was recognized as one of the top 6 students who competed by being named to the All-Florida Team. All students received medals, Herff-jones rings, a trophy, and a $500 scholarship. Corey received an additional $1000 scholarship for making the All-Florida team.
Congratulations to all the students and coaches on bringing home this victory to St. Lucie County!
