Kindergarten students at Fairlawn Elementary had an exciting and memorable visit from local firefighter Tyler Logsdon, and it was definitely a highlight of the week! From the moment he walked in, he had our students engaged, excited, and ready to learn.
Tyler did an incredible job explaining what it means to be a public worker and how important it is to help and support your community. He connected it back to school in such a meaningful way, showing students that even now, they can start building leadership skills by making good choices and helping others.
One of the students’ favorite parts was the hilarious story he read aloud—it had the entire room laughing from start to finish! To wrap up the visit, he shared something extra special: a secret firefighter handshake used at the end of a successful shift. The kids thought that was the coolest thing ever!
We are so thankful for this fun and meaningful experience. Fairlawn is lucky to have such wonderful community members pouring into our students!
