Our kindergarteners at Fairlawn Elementary are off to a fantastic start! They have been working hard each day as they learn new routines, build important skills, and become confident members of our school community.
One of the highlights has been mastering their scissor skills! After practicing how to safely and correctly use scissors, our students put their skills to work by creating their very own “Scissor Salad.” This fun activity allowed students to practice cutting while strengthening their hand muscles and improving their fine motor skills.
Our kindergarteners are also learning how to use pencils, crayons, glue, and other classroom tools with greater control and confidence. These fine motor skills are an important foundation for writing and other classroom tasks.
Beyond academics, our students are learning what it means to be good students and good listeners. They are practicing following directions, raising their hands, staying focused, taking turns, and showing kindness to their classmates.
We are so proud of how hard our kindergarteners are working! They are learning, growing, and becoming more independent every day. Keep up the great work, Fairlawn kindergarteners!
