National School Counseling Week, February 2–6, 2026, is the perfect time for Fairlawn Elementary to shine a spotlight on two truly incredible educators—our school counselors, Mrs. Neill and Ms. Malone. Fairlawn Elementary loves their counselors, and for good reason! These dedicated professionals support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth every single day through both individual and group counseling.
Mrs. Neill and Ms. Malone help students develop effective coping strategies, build healthy relationships, and strengthen self-esteem, while also supporting overall mental health. They work closely with teachers and parents to create a nurturing, supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and understood. Their impact reaches far beyond the counseling office.
Mrs. Neill is a proud Fairlawn alum and has been at Fairlawn for eight years. Ms. Malone has been part of Fairlawn for four years, and all three of her children currently attend the school. Together, they lead the “Safer Smarter Kids” program each year, teaching students in all grades valuable life lessons that last a lifetime. Fairlawn is so grateful for these two counselors who truly go above and beyond for our students every day.
