Dr. Kevin Perry, Assistant to the Superintendent, presented awards to the student winners of the 2015 Dr. Samuel S. Gaines Essay Contest at the school board meeting on April 28th. Students from third grade to twelfth grade wrote essays on an African American who has made a difference. The Morganti Group sponsors this essay contest each year with monetary awards to each winner in each category. The High School winners were; 1st Place- Aide Aguilar (Fort Pierce Central); 2nd Place- Cheyenne Nixon (Lincoln Park); and 3rd Place- Angie Khan (Fort Pierce Central). The Middle School winners were: 1st Place- Athresha Kalluri (Palm Pointe); 2nd Place- Sara Aube (Manatee); and 3rd Place- Annaelise Swanson (Forest Grove). The Elementary School winners were: 1st Place- Annarose Hilhorst (Palm Pointe); 2nd Place- Riley Holtzclaw (Palm Pointe); and 3rd Place- Laney Keys (Palm Pointe). Congratulations to all.
