In partnership with Scholastic Education, SLPS is rolling out classroom libraries in all K-5 classrooms across the district. Each classroom library has a collection of over 250 books to engage students in fiction and non-fiction literature. For two new teachers at Windmill Point Elementary, Scholastic Education launched the Classroom Library Makeover Contest by making over these teachers’ classroom libraries. Each teacher is eligible to enter the makeover contest for a chance to win an additional 150 books for their classroom library and to gift 150 books to another teacher on their campus. Three teachers will be chosen based on their overall makeover.
