We have a unique opportunity on Monday, August 21!
This will be the first time in 99 years that a total solar eclipse will cross the nation coast-to-coast. In Florida, as the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, it will only partially block the Sun making it look like early evening in the middle of the day.
Students who are absent or check out of school early on Monday, Aug. 21, so they can experience the eclipse with their families will be allowed to make up any missed assignments and will be excused for their absences. Please note: If early check out is planned, it is important to pick your child up by noon.
We are also offering parents of elementary students the option of attending Extended Day so their students may remain on campus indoors until picked up by parents no later than 5:00 pm. Please contact your child’s school for details and send a note if you intend to have your elementary student remain on campus.
