Stop The Bleed is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to act quickly to save lives.  According the the Department of Homeland Security, it can take less than five minutes for someone to bleed out after an accident.  EMS and other forms of emergency rescue often take longer to arrive on the scene.  It is vital that everyone has the knowledge and the tools to stop bleeding before it is too late.  The Stop the Bleed Campaign is critical to saving lives in America. October is recognized as National Bullying Prevention Month.  The statistics associated with bullying are staggering across the United States.  More than one out of every five students reports being bullied at some point in their educational career. October’s School Board Meeting provided an opportunity to spotlight the services of Mr. Brown, a dedicated member of the Transportation Team, who goes the extra mile for his students and our schools.  Mr. Brown was recommended for a STAR Award based upon his outstanding service to provide assistance and support for the safe transit of students to and from schools. Thank you, Mr. Brown, for being that ray of light for so many in our District!    

The seventh annual Giving Concert is planned for Thursday, October 25th at Lincoln Park Academy Auditorium located at 1806 Avenue I in Fort Pierce. The doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m. and the concert boasting area choral groups will begin at 7:00 p.m.   The event, sponsored by St. Lucie Public Schools and organized by Choral Director Dr. Rolanda Jones, will benefit Grace Packs which is a weekly weekend back pack program that provides necessary food items to students in need.   Admission to the concert is a non-perishable food item (Chef Boyardee products are suggested) donation. … Read More

For the 12th year the Sunrise Theatre is committed to providing students in St. Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee, and Martin Counties the opportunity to attend live theatrical performances. The School Time Performances offer current, challenging and artistically diverse programming performed by international, national and regional artists and theatrical companies. This year’s 34th Annual Business & Industry Awards, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and MIDFLORIDA Credit Union, was an evening to celebrate businesses and organizations in St. Lucie County that positively contribute to the area’s economic well-being and quality of life. Help Buick donate up to $10,000 to Ft. Pierce Westwood High School! Drivers 21 and older are invited to take a 2 – 3 minute test drive on November 3rd at Fort Pierce Westwood High School. Buick will donate $10 for the first 100 test drives and $20 per test drive after the school hits the 100 benchmark. The event is scheduled from 8 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, November 3rd.

On September 27, high school guidance counselors and graduation coaches from across the District had the privilege of touring and learning about five outstanding businesses in St. Lucie County.  The stops included ABC Medical, The Porch Factory, Maverick Boat Group, Southern Eagle Distributing and PGA Golf Club. While on the tour, participants learned about job opportunities for students that address the skills gap, as identified by the Economic Development Council, in the areas of healthcare, manufacturing and skill trades.
