SLWK-8 students in grades 3-8 were treated to a Pep Rally for FSA on Tuesday, April 30th. The administration was assisted by the drumline from Centennial High School, as well as some of their basketball players. With special thanks to Friends of the Rupert J. Smith Law Library, Inc., students had the opportunity to participate in the 2019 Law Day Art Contest and Law Day Reception. St. Lucie Public Schools will participate in the Summer Food Service Program during the months of June and July.  Nutritionally balanced meals will be provided to all children regardless of race, color, sex, disability, age or national origin during summer vacation when school breakfasts and lunches are not available.  At open sites, all children, 18 years old and younger, are eligible for meals at no charge, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.  The programs are only approved for geographical areas of need where 50 percent or more of the children qualify for free … Read More

Wayne Gent and School Board members thank St. Lucie County voters and community members for supporting the education referendum with a 66% vote. “The record number of returned ballots and support from our community speaks volumes to the value placed on a quality public school education system. The generous members of Fort Pierce Elks #1520 have done it again! Through their focused efforts on supporting students in need, they have donated 150 crock pots which can be used to prepare hot and nourishing meals regardless of the location or mobility status of students and their families.   The Elks #1520 also support weekend food backpack programs, school clothing drives, and school supply donations. St. Lucie Public Schools greatly appreciates the outpouring of support from this benevolent organization.  

Friends, families, businesses, and organizations came together on Saturday, April 27th for a day of fun, food, festivities, and demonstrations at the 5th Annual Safety Fest held at the Digital Domain Stadium in Port St. Lucie. The Ft. Pierce Central High School JROTC Color Guard and St. Lucie West Centennial High School Band opened the event by presenting the Colors and playing the National Anthem.  St. Lucie Public Schools was represented by Transportation, FDLRS, Media Services, Magnet School Programs, and General Programs of Study.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office bomb disposal team on Thursday, April 18, 2019 hosted their annual Beeping Easter Egg Hunt.  The event took place place at Westside Church in Fort Pierce. The Beeping Easter Egg Hunt is hosted each year for visually impaired students in the St. Lucie School District and features plastic eggs that beep, assembled by the bomb disposal team.  The students and adults all have a wonderful time finding the beeping eggs!
