Our 5th graders started and completed a Hamburger War. They used a Hamburger War template to put their writing skills to the test. The 3 class periods on Mrs. Enoch’s side battled the 3 class periods on Mrs. Pank’s side. They created an essay as a class based on unique prompts assigned to each class period. As a class they planned, wrote, color-coded, and revised their essay. Students followed Top Score writing guidelines to ensure that they had written an exceptional expository non-text-based essay. Faculty and Staff members walked our halls where the essays were displayed and voted on the best written essays aligned to standards. Winners were announced and overall, the students had a Hamburgerilicious Time.
