Northport student, Carl Schumacher and his teacher, Jennifer Carey, would like us all to help celebrate the month of May as Better Speech and Hearing month. Northport Students Move Forward to State History Fair

Northport eighth graders Lily Swantic and Rebekah Papsidero from Andrew Mackenzie’s history class will participate in the state of Florida History Fair in Tallahassee this weekend. The girl’s project was titled “Asylum Reform of 1840.” Congratulations to our girls and best wishes ❤

Northport Eighth Graders To Tour Washington

Northport eighth graders have been given a wonderful opportunity to tour Washington, D.C. next year. Instructor Thomas McDonald is organizing this enlightening and educational trip for our students. Northport Lower Grades Rock Field Days

Northport second grade instructor Jennifer Lusardi and her class, along with students and teachers from VPK to grade five, participated in fun and energizing field days recently at Northport. The students loved the time playing games and competing for ribbons. According to campus participants, this was healthy, fun, and promoted positive interaction and socialization skills. The kids absolutely loved it! Many thanks to coaches, teachers and parents who made NP Field Days a success for the children.

Northport Engages in School-wide Young Author Program

Elaine Lawrence’s first graders proudly bring their Young Author books to the media center today. It was so difficult to pick the two best books to enter competition. ❤ Great job to children and teacher. At Northport, the entire school participates in the annual Young Authors program. The program brings joy to writing, a common language among teachers, students and parents and provides a time to have fun with words and illustrations. Northport Students Collaborate With College Level Campaign!

Northport students in Sandra Tyndale’s eighth grade class and Jennifer Lusardi’s second grade class collaborated with students from Fort Pierce Central High School and Lincoln Park Academy visiting Northport as Dual Enrollment students from Indian River State College. The dual enrollment students visited Northport as an assignment from their college level American Government class. Students, Samantha Huynh, Anthony Lima, Adriana Sanz and Nayeli Silva are running a mock campaign for Governor of the State of Florida. Northport Parents, Students and Faculty Celebrate Final Honor Roll of Year!

Northport is so pleased to celebrate our Third Grade Perfect Attendance, B Honor Roll, A Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll. Our teachers and students have worked very hard and have earned this award. Many thanks to our parents who make sure that the classwork and homework is complete, attend parent conferences and make sure that their student is following classroom and school norms. Mrs. Kemp, Mrs. Taylor, Ms. D’Argenio, Ms. Cirjaru, Ms. Claflin and Mrs. Wilson are to be commended for their diligence, patience and kindness working with our children. Northport Celebrates Women With Speakers Bureau

What a marvelous and celebratory morning in the Northport Media Center recently. Students from the 6th and 7th grade Northstar team were privileged to take part in an engaging program honoring the contributions of top-notch women from across so many arenas and avenues of life. Northport and BBBS Partner to Celebrate Dr. Seuss!

Today is the day! Northport and BBBS partnered to make this year the best Dr. Seuss birthday party ever! Thanks to all of our guests who too visited Northport to read and enjoy time with the children. Thank you to Tiffany Tredor and her fifth grade students who served as ambassadors. Northport History Fair Students Return as Champs!

On behalf of Northport K8, We would like to congratulate the following students for their placement at the St. Lucie County History Fair competition. Jennifer Lugo-Rodriguez and Chastine Maharaj received 3rd place for Junior Group website. Rebebak Papsidero and Lily Swantic received 2nd place for Junior Group Exhibit. Arthur Sanders received 1st place for Junior Individual Documentary and was awarded a new laptop from Walmart Distribution Center for having an outstanding entry in the technology category. Northport Elementary Students Support 8th Grade FSA Writing!

Northport elementary students made cards, banners and posters to encourage eighth grade students as they take their FSA Writing tests. Students also offered lollipops, mints and treats. Northport students are uncommonly caring and loving. We are thankful that our administration and staff are so supportive and encourage a “family” atmosphere.

Northport Rising Stars Present Wax Museum!

What a delightful morning in the Northport gymnasium! Northport Rising Stars gifted and enriched teachers and students researched very important people and then portrayed an authentic Wax Museum for parents, families and classes to enjoy. Janine Wiecks, Kate Ploeckelman, Lorena Wilson and Tiffany Tredor presented their students with a wonderful and engaging lesson that brought history to life for so many guests.
