Restoring the Village Youth Symposium – FREE for K – 12 Students June 9 – Lincoln Park Academy from 9 AM – 2:30 PM Registration is from 9AM  – 10AM in the Lincoln Park Auditorium Students will learn about leadership, overcoming odds, conflict resolution, and innovative technology during informative and exciting breakout sessions. The Florida Department of Education released the Grade 3 ELA Scores, and the percent of Grade 3 students in St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) continues to rise with scores increasing another three percent this year. The 2017 “Fresh from Florida” Student Chef Cook-Off champions announcement from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services brought cheers from students and staff at Fort Pierce Westwood High School.  ProStart student Sheldon Riley placed second with his Southwestern Chicken and Orzo Salad. The competition included students in grades nine through 12 from across the state who were challenged to prepare original dishes featuring at least one Florida-grown fruit or vegetable for a panel of judges. On behalf of the SLPS District Office Events Committee, $500 was donated to Grace Packs.  Laura Klosterman and Lisa Ferrick from Grace Packs accepted the gift on behalf of the nonprofit organization that provides students and their families with weekend food source packages.

Into the Woods, Jr. will be shown at the Southport Middle School cafetorium to the public on Friday, May 26th, 2017 at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30pm) and Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at 2:30pm (doors open at 2:00pm).
