EKGs are required for first-time high school student athletes in the 2026-27 school year.  Specifically, this requirement applies to students participating in high school athletics for the first time, including incoming 9th-grade student-athletes, and students in grades 10–12 who have not previously participated in an FHSAA-sanctioned sport. Students who have already participated in a high school sport are not required to obtain an EKG at this time; however, obtaining one is strongly recommended as a best practice for student health and safety. On Monday, January 6, Westwood Academy proudly welcomed students to their new campus. Our OTL team worked together to support both teachers and students throughout the transition. Thank you to everyone who came out to help make this milestone a success. The beautiful new campus is officially open and ready for a great rest of the school year.

Recently, the Talent Development Prize Patrol hit the road with one mission in mind: to honor the mentors who make a lasting impact on their mentees. As The Prize Patrol visited schools, mentees had the chance to read their winning entries aloud to their mentors. These heartfelt words captured the gratitude and admiration they feel every day.
