In partnership with Scholastic Education, SLPS is rolling out classroom libraries in all K-5 classrooms across the district. Each classroom library has a collection of over 250 books to engage students in fiction and non-fiction literature. For two new teachers at Windmill Point Elementary, Scholastic Education launched the Classroom Library Makeover Contest by making over these teachers’ classroom libraries. Each teacher is eligible to enter the makeover contest for a chance to win an additional 150 books for their classroom library and to gift 150 books to another teacher on their campus. SLPS would like to extend an invitation for parents and students to attend a webinar hosted by the College Board Florida Partnership that will provide them with the information they need to better understand the PSAT Student Score Reports (PSAT 8/9 and PSAT/ NMSQT). During Jumpstart’s Read for the Record event on October 28, PNC bank generously donated copies of the book “Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon” to VPK students. During the event, Mariposa students drew pictures of their dragons while PNC bank employees read virtually to students. Thank you PNC bank!

The single day drop-in service is free to members and only $20 for non-members at the Westside Club location at 3361 S. Jenkins Road in Fort Pierce.
