Rivers Edge 2nd Graders Take Flight

Second graders at Rivers Edge have been exploring the enchanting life cycle of butterflies, observing their incredible transformation from larvae to beautiful, winged creatures. Witnessing this firsthand reinforces the ideas of growth, change, and the wonders of the natural world. Wilderness Club at Rivers Edge

The Wilderness Club, led by Mrs. Slappey, had its first hike of the season and it did not disappoint! The new crew got to hike the preserve and grounds surrounding along the preserve at Rivers Edge and got to observe ground doves, a pileated woodpecker, and even spotted two black racers!  They also had the chance to identify animal scat, analyze game trails, and learn their secret pack call. It was an epic hike, and they cannot wait for more adventures ahead!
