Southport Students Connecting with the Community

The sixth-grade students at Southport Middle School extended their thanks to residents in our Port St. Lucie community with hand-crafted cards, bookmarks and blankets as part of a school-wide service project. The celebration began outside the media center where students welcomed the residents of Harbor Place Assisted Living, residents of Ballentrae and members of Holy Family Church with an “Appreciation Tunnel.”  Once they arrived to their destination, the students enjoyed conversation with their guests and gave their personalized gifts of kindness to them.
Everyone enjoyed the entertainment the students provided through skits and a musical ensemble. These caring groups have generously donated school supplies and sponsored various programs, including Grace Packs.
