Kindergarten students at Fairlawn Elementary recently went on a sparkling adventure without ever leaving campus! Diamond Del’s Mobile Gem Mining Adventure visited the school to give students a hands-on, in-school field trip full of discovery and excitement.
Students had a blast sifting through mining trays to uncover colorful gems and special stones hidden in the sand. As they searched, they also learned about different types of rocks and minerals and how they are found in nature. The experience combined science and fun, giving young learners a chance to explore geology in an exciting and interactive way.
Each student even got to keep the gems they discovered, making the day extra special. The kindergarteners loved becoming “little miners” for the day, and the smiles on their faces showed just how much they enjoyed the sparkling adventure. Fairlawn Elementary always looks for creative ways to make learning memorable, and this gem of a field trip was a shining success!
