Falcon Learning Village Comes to Life at Lakewood Park

Mrs. Kimball’s classroom project is up and running with enthusiastic, engaged students!

The POD area adjacent to Mrs. Kimball’s ESE classroom has been transformed into the Falcon Learning Village. There are 7 stations for the students to interact with hands-on equipment.

The Grand Opening took place on February 2nd, with nine students entering the Falcon Learning Village with awe and amazement on their faces. They circled around as they took in each learning station: the Falcon Pet Care, Automotive Shop, Workshop, Medical/Dental Clinic, Art Club, Fresh Market, and Kozy Kitchen with such excitement! When they were instructed to check things out, they immediately explored the materials and immersed themselves in pretend play and role-playing!

Visiting the Falcon Learning Village has become an integral part of the students’ daily learning experience. A plethora of opportunities to practice communication skills, fine motor skills, social skills, and critical thinking skills are available. Students gather at the Decision-Making Table to choose which station to visit that day. Students receive their Time Card for the day. Students proceed to their station and ‘Clock in’ by placing their Time Card on the wall at their station, and then the Work begins!

Without the generous donations from the Donors at Donorschoose.org, this project would not have been able to be implemented. Through this project, Falcon students are working hard through their play!
