SLW Centennial Criminal Justice Students Visit Court House

Certified Legal Assistant students were invited to attend a Civil Discourse Session at the federal courthouse in Fort Pierce.
Students learned about civil discourse and interacted with local attorneys, court staff, and a circuit judge. They also learned about different careers in the legal field and different areas of the law they could practice in. Students were given an opportunity to ask questions.  Finally, students were given roles to participate in a mock trial. The student attorneys did an excellent job preparing and presenting their arguments before the judge and jury, and student jurors intelligently debated as they deliberated the evidence and arguments presented by both sides to arrive at their verdict.  Way to go LEGAL EAGLES!
