We are excited to announce the return of Southport Middle School’s Adopt-A-Street club, the club that makes a difference in the community with one piece of trash at a time! The club members from Ms. Mas and Ms. Ayala’s classes will meet once a month for their service project and clean up assigned streets directly outside of our school. Excited students all watched the Safety Video and were ready for their mission. They were introduced to the Adopt-A-Street program and joined by Ms. Sudane Lewis, M.Ed., district Culture & Learning Environment Specialist, and founding Southport group sponsor. The students’ first clean-up was a cool morning, motivating them to move fast. The group collected 5 bags of trash, along with a few five-gallon buckets.
