LPA Key Club Swears in Officers

On March 22, 2023, the Lincoln Park Academy Key Club conducted the swearing-in ceremony of officers. Elections were conducted at the February meeting, and the results were then announced. Faith Mobley will hold the position of President, Nachbi Pierre is Vice President, Megan Pinto is Secretary, and Jeno Retutal is Treasurer. Their term of office will continue through May 2024. Our Junior Family Night was a huge success! We partnered with the Boys & Girls Club to support our students as they head toward meeting their goal of graduation! Our Panther Bistro hosted a delicious spaghetti dinner!

Orlando Science Center Visits Lakewood Park

On March 23rd, Orlando Science Center visited Lakewood Park Elementary. During the day, 4th and 5th grade students learned about potential and kinetic energy with real-life angry birds, explored the scientific method with mealworms, used coding to operate robots, and experimented with flying drones. In the evening, parents and students experienced 15 different STEM stations. From plants, to airplanes, to fractions, families had a blast!

FPC Young Floridian Candidates

Fort Pierce Central High School has a long and rich tradition of participating in the Young Floridian Scholarship program. This year is no exception. Brave Cobra students successfully submitted applications and mastered their individual interviews with three judges! LPA Seniors Sign to Compete on the Collegiate Level

Lincoln Park Academy senior softball athletes Madison Davis and Callan Kloeckner, along with tennis player Jaclyn Dyer, each signed letters of intent to their respective colleges and universities. Davis, an ace pitcher for the LPA softball team will play at Converse University (Spartanburg, South Carolina).  Jaclyn Dyer will join the tennis team at Keiser University and Callan Kloeckner will play at Indian River State College. Weatherbee Students Complete “Too Good For Violence” Program

Recently, Angela Thomas, Prevention Specialist with New Horizons of the Treasure Coast, provided a 7-week Too Good For Violence program for Weatherbee Elementary 1st and 2nd-grade students.  They learned how to be responsible in keeping the classroom peaceful, how to manage their emotions, and practiced their conflict resolution skills.  Ms. Thomas is pictured here with some of her 1st and 2nd-grade students.  

SLW Centennial NAVY JROTC Participates in “Battle of Platoons”

The SLW Centennial High School’s NAVY JROTC “Black Talon” unit participated in their annual “Battle of Platoons” events and competition. The “Battle of  Platoons” competition was held this past Saturday, March 25th, 2023.   The Battle of Platoons events are a series of competitions that all four platoons compete in against each other and the results are used to crown the “Honor Platoon” during Awards Night at the end of the year.
