Treasure Coast High School is proud to announce that Robert Grundstrom has been selected to receive the 2023 Gutterman Family Outstanding Holocaust Educator Award from the Arthur and Emalie Gutterman Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education at Florida Atlantic University. The award recognizes educators who have had a demonstrated positive impact on their schools, as well as the wider community in the field of Holocaust, genocide, and human rights education.
The award honors individual teachers who actively, by their example and through teaching about these difficult subjects, strengthen South Florida students’ world-citizenship and capacity to uphold the dignity of all persons. This year, the award enables recipients to participate in an educator field study visiting Holocaust sites in Poland and Israel. Mr. Grundstrom has done an exceptional job of introducing his students to the lessons of the Holocaust. By teaching the students about the Holocaust and the history and pattern of genocides, he prepares young people to be better educated not only in how it applies to the subject they are learning, but also to be better educated for the world they live in.
