White City Students’ Pick Their Own Resource

At White City Elementary, the passionate Resource Team is inspiring students to take ownership of their learning and behavior through our monthly Pick Your Own Resource PBIS events—a highlight of the positive school culture.

Led by the imaginative Mr. Tobin (Art), with enthusiastic support from Mr. Jones (PE), Mr. Smith (Music), and Mr. DeLeon (Media), these events recognize students who consistently demonstrate motivation, responsibility, and kindness.

With limited spots available in each resource class, students eagerly earn ClassDojo points to secure early access to their favorite activities—whether it’s painting in Art, moving in PE, making music, or exploring in Media.

This exciting tradition not only promotes positive choices but also strengthens our school community. Every month, students look forward to earning this reward, and White City consistently earns PBIS recognitions!

“I worked really hard to get my points so I could pick Art first. It makes me feel proud!” — 2nd Grader

“These events give our students something to strive for. They’re learning that good choices lead to great opportunities—and that’s a lesson that lasts.” — Lauren Gieseler, White City Elementary Assistant Principal

White City Elementary School was designated a Florida PBIS Model School Gold Award Winner.
