SLPS & St. Lucie Public Library Art Project

On Friday, April 19th, students from St. Lucie West Centennial High School, St. Lucie West K-8, Northport K-8, Westgate K-8, and Rivers Edge Elementary came to the district office to participate in the creation of a permanent art installation on the new Port St. Lucie Library. The students worked with the artist Justin Shea to create Henri Matisse-inspired cut-outs which will be turned into mosaic tiles on the exterior of the new library.

Social Emotional Learning Through Art at Fort Pierce Central

Fort Pierce Central High School Ceramics 1 class is working on social-emotional learning while making Emoji Rattles. Mrs. Avra’s students researched, sketched, and created their own personal version of Emoji’s.  As a percussive instrument with decorative features, each rattle is as unique as our art students.  Self-expression and emotional mindfulness are experienced throughout the artistic, creative process.
