From January 13th to 17th, SLW Centennial High School celebrated Student Appreciation Week. This week was dedicated to recognizing and appreciating the hard work and spirit of our students. The week was filled with engaging activities and themed days that brought the school community closer together.

Pajama Dress-up Day kicked off the week on a cozy note. Students and staff were encouraged to wear their most comfortable pajamas to school, creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere. It was a delightful sight to see everyone in their cozy attire, taking a break from the usual dress code and enjoying a day of comfort. On Cheers to Peers Day, students took the time to write gratitude cards to their peers, teachers, and staff. This activity fostered a sense of appreciation and kindness throughout the school. Students exchanged heartfelt messages, helping to strengthen bonds. This event highlighted the supportive community at SLW Centennial.

On Wednesday, teachers showed their support for students on FAST testing day by wearing their camouflage “Accept the Challenge” shirts. This gesture was aimed at encouraging students to do their best during testing and demonstrating the teachers’ commitment to their success. Teachers also showed their appreciation for their students on Thursday by wearing red. This visual display of affection and gratitude was a reminder of the strong relationships between teachers and students. It was a day filled with smiles and positive energy, as students felt valued and recognized by their educators. The week concluded with a lively celebration during lunch periods, featuring a DJ who played upbeat music to keep the energy high. Students were also given motivational bracelets, serving as a reminder of their worth and potential. The combination of music and meaningful tokens made for a memorable end to Student Appreciation Week.

Overall, SLW Centennial’s Student Appreciation Week was a resounding success, filled with joy, gratitude, and a strengthened sense of community. The event not only celebrated the students but also reinforced the importance of appreciation and kindness within the school.
