St. Lucie students learn universe mysteries at planetarium shows

Students in Deborah Day, John Fallon and Janine Wiecks third grade classes from Northport K-8 school attended a stellar star show recently in the Hallstrom Planetarium at Indian River State College. Museums and planetariums evoke excitement and give children the foundational skills that enable them to be lifelong learners. Planetarium Director Jon Bell has been giving dynamic planetarium shows that engage students in the splendor of the stars and other celestial bodies for 20 years. Over 3,600 students from 19 St. Lucie Public Schools attended a planetarium show at IRSC this year. By seeing a planetarium show, students begin to understand their place in space and how scientists uncover the deep mysteries of the universe.
