The district’s video submission of CTE: Building Futures with Phoenix Metals has been recognized as an Award of Distinction winner. The video was shot and edited by Steve Devlin, Multimedia Graphic Artist, from the Media Services Department. The video explores the partnership the District has with Phoenix Metals, a company in St. Lucie County. Students can join the apprentice program at Phoenix Metals directly from participation in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Boot Camp or other CTE programs. Highly skilled workers are needed in a variety of fields and this partnership allows for on the job training for SLPS students. Many students are hired as permanent employees after their internship.
