On Saturday, October 24, SLWK8 students competed as a team in the Future Chef Competition held in Ft. Pierce at the Green Market. Students competed against the local high schools and one other K-8 school in this event. The Shark Chef Team (Casie Schulz, Laravanessa Cano and Gabriella Quimby) showed well with their appetizer of Savory Shrimp Persimmon and Plum Skewers over Orange Ginger Jasmine Rice and served an entree of Banh Mi with Watermelon Salad. The judges particularly enjoyed that many flavors from the market were showcased and added that our chefs exhibited outstanding culinary skills.
