The SLW Centennial NAVY JROTC Black Talon Company participated in Florida State’s Area 7 Academic Brain Brawl Championships on Saturday, January 29th, 2022.
The Brain Brawl Championships pitted 32 NJROTC Academic Teams in a bracket competition where the top four teams competed in the finals. Each team is comprised of 5 cadets, 4 main players, and an alternate that can swap in when needed.
SLW Centennial NAVY JROTC had two teams receive invitations to compete in the Championships. Team Alpha was composed of Gregory Vetrano, Sabrina Fortney, Anders Maurancy, Zachary Schumacher, and Casey Fortney. Alpha Team made it to the Semi-Finals and finished 12th out of 32 teams in the state of Florida!
Team Bravo was composed of Aidan Rossell, Nicholas Linarducci, Nikolas Ramirez, Peyton Mangine, and Mayreeana Neston. Bravo Team made it to the Quarter-Finals and fished 23rd out of 32 in the state of Florida.
The Teams represented their school and unit proudly and are looking to place top three next year!
