In October, the Office of Teaching and Learning (Secondary Programs) took approximately 40 seniors from our comprehensive high schools on a college exploration trip to Florida International University (FIU).
There is nothing quite like stepping onto a college campus and imagining yourself as a student there. College tours give students the chance to go beyond websites and brochures by experiencing campus life firsthand, exploring academic opportunities, asking questions, and discovering what they are looking for in their future college home. For many students, experiences like these help turn the dream of college into a tangible and achievable goal.
During their visit to FIU, this academically driven group of seniors explored the campus, learned more about the university and its opportunities, and experienced a taste of college life while enjoying lunch on campus.
We extend a special thank you to the St. Lucie Education Foundation for supporting this experience by providing lunch for each student.
